Don't cull too early... The ones with just a little red can fill in later... I usually wait till they are 5 month or better before I decide unless they carry a HUGE fault or there is an incredible amount of red (more than is useful).

woo hoo ,my girlfriens ordered my virginia licence plate and im happy to say no one had a couctom plate ,,,,,
it says" MARANS" so anyone sees a green ford 2009 pick up with Va plate says Marans i am in virginia , west virginia
honk your horn or do a rooster call ....... i need a horn that sounds llike a rooster lol lol

I have one that my roo hatched out of that was nearly black

Here is my Blue Marans roo.

Blue and Splash Marans:

This is another Blue Marans roo, but he has a hint of copper in the hackles. Nice big boy though.

Next up ..... AWFUL looking specimens for Black Copper Marans. Are you ready for this? How many pictures do you want to see?

Oh, yes, I did forget to mention the squirrel's tail!

First up, we have a Black Copper Marans .... he is nearly totally black, with just a hint of coppering in the hackles. This guy is huge!

Next, a few Black Copper Marans I hatched. Warning, not a pretty sight!

That's just a few. I have plenty more, if you can take it!
