I haven't posted on this thread for quite awhile but here is a pic of our BCM eggs.

That's the first one that hatched and he looks like a roo. The second one was a pullet. My pullets, besides having darker legs, also have more leg feathers than my cockerels, so they're pretty easy to sex.

So here are my stats so far on the hatch in the new RCOM 20

I set 19 eggs
They weren't shipped eggs, but I was saving them for 3 weeks before the incubator arrived, so some were a bit old
I had the humidity at 45% days 1-19 and changed to 58% during lock down ( I waited until day 19 because I added an additional egg a day late)
The chicks started hatching early, day 20. I suppose maybe those were the older eggs and they had started to develop a bit when I had them stored

This is day 21. So far, 11 chicks have hatched, one is currently zipping and a couple others are rolling and moving.
There hasn't been much moisture when they hatch out of the egg at all, it's pretty dry actually.but they also aren't sticking to their shells at all
When they hatch, the humidity only moves up about a single point and then goes right back to 58%

I was trying to unplug my laptop today and unplugged the incubator by mistake

, I gasped, plugged it back in and within a second a little tune played and the digital display flashed something like "auto recovery of settings" and it went immediately back to the settings

I will also post this to Pinkchick's Marans festivus for the rest-of-us thread.

Very nice.
It's so hard to capture the egg color accurately, isn't it? Your first picture looks like you used a flash and it's over-exposed and the second looks like you didn't use the flash but the back ground is dark. The second pic looks better and more accurate. I usually take my pictures outside. It is much easier to get an accurate picture of the color outside in daylight I think

great looking bator drom . its so nice to just set and forget i am doing a split hatch this time and placeing 9 of my 24 eggs in the r-com to my lg for lock down leaveing 15 in the suro (r-com). theres no room for the hatching if i leave all 15 in there . il try your idea for the pictures .... i still think the paint store matching paint color would be the better way insted of the marans color chart for egg colour

You know, I took each one of them out yesterday and moved them to a brooder as soon as they looked pretty dry. Which means I opened the incubator 13 times.

There is some nice space in this incubator, however the floor inside is very slick and they slip around which didn't seem good to me. What this incubator needs is a hatching mat that you can put down in the bottom at lock down when you pull out the egg dividers.

So, I still have 6 eggs left and it's possible that opening up the incubator so much messed them up. But, the good thing about this incubator is that it goes back to temp and humidity in seconds after you close it back up, so I didn't think it would be a big deal.

13 out of 19 is not too bad for a first hatch with some weeks old eggs.
I've got one egg in there that I added on day two, so I think I will leave them in until Saturday and see if that one will hatch

Drom~
I would be happy to with that hatch. I've hatched some babies from 14 day old eggs before that I didn't think would make it but they are all laying up a storm.
