Don't sell em short yet

I still thinks that they are all 3 roo's even thou only one has started crowing but they combs & wattles are all large , so I’m thinking all 3 are roo’s even thou the other two black are not crowing as of yet , the other baby 4 chicks are still to young to tell as of yet , but I will keep them all until I know for sure that I have as lease a pair or trio I hope before culling

I try to get some pic tomorrow of the 3

Did you see the size of comb on Shmooborps hen... I am sending you henny vibes... I hope you are wrong and they are a trio... I got lucky when I thought I had two roos and a hen... They were a wade line... but they were all hens... I was SURE I had 2 roosters in the bunch and then they reached nine months old in march and no crowing and pullet eggs...

I will watch for the pix

It looks like a marans egg to me. But I just looked up barnvelder, and ya....could be! Beautiful birds too. The shape is a little more normal than marans. Mine look the same shape on both ends almost. I can barely tell which end is up. Could be either!

On marans: I was always told pullet eggs start dark and get lighter sometimes, but I've had the opposite experience. Mine started laying 4's and have gotten darker. Wait and see what the next few cycles show you.

Not much help here but this is a photo of a Barnevelder egg, Welsummer egg and a Marans egg. The Wellie and Marans egg are the ones that have hatched. I have Blue Copper Marans that lay an egg like the darkest one that you have posted.
It is very hard to tell the Barnevelder eggs from my Welsummer eggs, the only way I can tell these apart is because the Wellies hatched and the Barnies go into lockdown this morning. I hope you don't mind but I copied your idea and put them in the same dish to see if I could get the same color quality in the photo as you did, your photo is much crisper and clearer. IMO your eggs are very pretty no matter who layed them.

Hey, Darris! Good to see you in here! Your boy has a bit of mossiness in his chest, and his comb needs one more point - BUT, he appears to be nice & large, and his coloring is AWESOME! Keep up the good work, & thanks for sharing pics!!! (JMO on conformation opinion)
