I've just lost my mind!

I have set 46 FBCM eggs in the incubator! That's not the crazy part though.

I am hand turning them!!! What was I thinking? My arm is burning by the time I get to the last row

This is going to be a long few weeks!

Okay hand turners...Here is a a piece of rocket science... he he Put them air cell side up in egg cartons and tip the whole container from the outside by sitting a thick book under on end.

Hope this helps the burned and finger weary.. I did the same thing till I figured this out!!!!

Outback~

The first roo pictured is the better out of the 2, I agree with David (Blackdotte). As far as price that is a tricky question.....when selling my culls I sell the girls as "plain old layers" and not over $10. The boys I normally sell for VERY CHEAP or give them away. Hope this helps!

Good luck on your hatch gvntofly!

I must have turners or every little egg would end up dropped and broken.......my hands are shot from the work I do..(construction and carpentry) they fall asleep just sitting here typing. Ya'll don't wanna know how many times I have to hit the backspace button.

I thought about doing that but ran into a problem. How would I then stop the water from going all over the place?

You just tip the egg cartons, not the whole incubator!

I also have to agree with Marquisella, Berkleysprings and Blackdotte about the Wheatens and possibly being crossed birds. Please keep in mind that I do not work with Wheatens, but since my best friend has inhibitions about hatching Marans eggs.. I do it for her, she is in love with Wheatens. I have also had the opportunity to grow many of these birds out for her and watch them mature, but to me something is off with these chicks.
I might add growing out her birds (Wheatens) for her is a pleasure and has given me an opportunity to learn about the differences between the Wheatens and the Black Coppers. It is a good learning tool for me and I can see why she loves them so much, they are beautiful birds.

Outback - on your birds, the 1st & 3rd appear to be mossy (copper feathering leaking into areas that they should black) - also, the combs should have 5 points - a bit tough for me to see in the pics, but both of your roos appear to have too many points on their combs. That's something I've been working on, and I'm having trouble with it. I do have a young cockerel (those who have goten eggs from me in the last 3 weeks - this guy is the daddy) that had a beautiful comb - so far, I'm really liking him, so I've got high hopes that his babies will have his 5 points, too!
