Marans Thread for Posting Pics of Your Eggs, Chicks and Chickens

Anyone have a nice Blue Copper Marans Roo up for grabs. I gave a friend a REALLY nice roo (when he was 8 weeks old) and he was killed by a fox this week. He was about 24 weeks old and I told her I try to find her a replacement. Anyone have one? I would like to be able to pick him up...we are in NY.

Hello all you knowledgable Marans people!
I have a Marans cockerel that is growing up to be the man of the coop, he is my first Marans, he was supposed to be a WHEATEN Marans HEN. LOL!
Maybe you can tell me what he actually is?

No joke! I was floored when I opened the package! They were my first marans eggs I had ever seen--let alone hatched.

Some eggs were uuuuggglllyy and others were very nice and dark. I put the nice ones in and cooked the ugly ones for the dogs and all was well with the world. I cant complain for $25 including shipping LOL

Bravo... did he say what the "test" was... It looks like a cross roo between the Davis and Wade lines... It isn't husky enough to be Wade and isn't Lanky enough at his age to be Davis... Could this be the test????

Very cool. Looks like the flock is responsible for their own experimentation LOL

I wasnt too thrilled seeing the puppies penned like livestock though. I'm such a softie!
