Marans

I have hens that are 25 1/2 weeks old an they still are not laying? They look like they should be but no eggs. Is this normal to go this long. I have a few leghorns that have been laying for a while an they are the same age. I can't wait till I see the real dark eggs in the hen house.

My Marans were much closer to 8 months when they started laying. They seem to be late starters. At least mine were.

I have a Cuckoo Marans who has been squatting and has had HUGE, bright red wattles and comb for the last 3 1/2 weeks now and STILL NO EGGS. Talk about frustration when they *look* like they should be laying but don't...
