Woke up to a pip this morning. Today is day 27.

How exciting! Congratulations! What are you hatching?

yay! About 14 of my Ameraucana and marans eggs have hatched. Eight left to go......fingers crossed.

9 total hatched, 1 still in the incubator but no signs of life so I think this may be it great hatch, 9/10 that went into lockdown, 9/14 total (3 infertile, 1 quit around day 7) no one needed any assistance and all chicks seem super healthy!! I’m so happy!

I traded my Ayam Cemanis that hatched for some Silkie/Polish eggs to set! Ooops!! (I live in an area that doesn't allow birds, so can't keep any babies I hatch anymore unfortunately!)

Ancona Ducklings.

unfortunately only 1 hatched. 2 late losses (they were moving the previous night). I cracked them open to be sure & sure enough internally pipped & had decent markings & colors.

This is the 1st year hatching out from this flock & they just turned 1 so I’m hoping it’s just because they are all young yet but my hatches have been crap. A lot of late losses compared to my previous flock of mixes. I have done trouble shooting to do.

Of course they are all moulting now so I’m sitting on my hands waiting for them to resume.
