March 2023 hatch-a-long

don't lock down if they look like this!!! It may be day 18 but it is not ready. If you lockdown anyway, it may take longer for hatching.

I've actually heard/read that the final week doesn't really matter so far as turning the eggs. Unsure how true that is, but...

do the guinea's know they are guineas? Do they get along with chickens?
No idea! But so far they've been getting along.

In a miracle the one I was sure wasn't going to make it rallied this morning so it in the brooder with the others, making three guineas and three chicks - one more guinea egg due on Saturday. Unfortunately two of the guineas seem to have splay legs so I've hobbled them with a bandaid, hopefully that does the trick.

Checked my locked down eggs and saw a few had pretty good expansion on their air cells. Took a spare back yard camera and set it over top of the incubator, it can see 9 of the 11 eggs to watch.
Cameras on the bator when you aren’t there are so helpful! Good luck!
