March 2023 hatch-a-long

Pics
I had this happen in my last hatch, but not that prominent. The umbilical cord was wrapped around the chicks foot in the egg, and when it hatched, it was trying to walk around, but was pulling the cord until I realized what was going on, then I cut it. It’s like a prolapsed anus I think, but it did go back inside by itself in the first day or so. The chick lived and is healthy. Good luck 😊
Here was my chick.

Absolutely! I was frantic, I thought the chick was going to die , but I let him/her dry off first, then put it in the plastic tub with the heat lamp in my bedroom, and after like a day it just sucked back up. It was scary, though.
They're so resilient! I just lost a pullet to cancer, this makes me even more emotional, my poor little girl.

Um... @Isadora says she asked around and they say it's an organ prolapse. I really, really, really don't want to cull her but I think I will have to. She's just standing in her little container with her beak on the edge looking like she has the runs. Poor little one.
Has it gone back in any? What about the second one?
