March 21 or so hatching

I know how you feel. I have been looking in the window searching for a hole in any egg for two days now and today after school was out, I check one last time before I clock off and saw one egg with a tiny hole.

I knew to look because the humidity went up 2% and I thought somewhere, someone was starting to open up.

Hopefully, tomorrow we'll have several eggs in various stages of hatching for the kids to see.

This morning when I got to work, I found two hatchlings - a yellow and a dark brown. Both were fairly dry already. I also had one that was mostly hatched; he just needed to kick out of the shell. Then through out the rest of the school day, we got to see several stages like unzip and pip.
I've got seven hatched so far. Three more eggs have little holes so I may have more out and fluffed up by morning (considering how fast these first ones hatched). I went ahead and brought the first seven home and they are sleeping in their brooder. At first I was going to put them with the bantams so they could show the new chicks about eating and drinking but they just jumped all over the sleepy ones so I took them back out and gave them their own box. I keep wanting to down downstairs and watch them.

YAY! Congratulations!

End of day 20 here - can't tell what's going on under my broody, but the 2 in the incubator (a brown and a green) haven't done much. The brown egg has dark speckles and it has changed it's position slightly, but I don't hear a thing from them! This waiting is the worst part. When candling them on day 18, they were both moving in there so I know they were ok then.....

Congratulations to everyone on your new chicks and on your approaching hatch day for those not there yet. My hatch day is Friday and I have one pipped but not zipped.
