My poor duck eggs aren't doing very well. I just candled and we are down to 10 eggs now. We started with 21. I'm not sure if I am doing something wrong or what.

I have 8 chicken eggs on day 11 now and they all look great. I also just put 6 chicken eggs in lockdown tonight too.

Im happy for everyone who's eggs look good so far!

Hmm what's your humidity? What day is it? Where did you get them? (sorry if you already told me this stuff I talk to a lot of people & am very forgetful.)

They are on day 15. Humidity is about 40 percent. I've been weighing them every four days and they are right where they should be.

They were shipped from across the country and most of the air cells were crazy bad. Also, until 2 days ago I had them upright (to help the air cells), but recently learned that was a "no-no" for duck eggs.

Ugh, duck eggs are hard to hatch!

Hmm I would start misting them & keep the humidity higher like a 50% & raise it to 55% at lockdown. I highly recommend you buy Storey's Guide To Raiding Ducks by Dave Holderread.

Hello everyone

I just ( well last Sunday night ) set my first eggs in my first incubator.. I set 42 eggs

2 bantam cochin
6 marans
6 welsummers
9 amerucauna
1 olive egger
5 black cuckoo silkies
5 white cuckoo silkies
and the rest are polish / frizzle

I've got 4 with no progress and the rest are progressing like they should be (as best I can tell via Internet pics lol ) the friend who collected the eggs for me will come over this next week and candle with me to make sure I'm not kissing anything... ive got 2 I'm leary about

Not really "veins" but what looks like just 1 vein...

Thanks. I will try that. I didn't want to raise the humidity because the weights were good, but I guess spraying them would counter balance that??
Also, they are in with chicken eggs so should I wait until my other incubator is available in a couple days? I don't really want to up my chicken eggs to 50 percent humidity.
