I've got 2 pips now.... the polish and a black silkie.. those are 2 i can see.. so hoping maybe more could be back in the back and I just can't see them..

I looked it up and found no concrete information, but how long is " okay" after pip to not see any progress? My fist pip was about 10 hours ago ..and nothing No chirps or anything..

Final tally: 21/23, my best hatch ever!
Three things I did differently this time:
1. Returned to my 40-42% incubation humidity
2. Adjusted temperature on the display to 100.0 after reading low with a spot check
3. Never, not once, opened the incubator after lockdown. I told myself I would wait until day 22
All are very healthy, no splayed legs, no crooked toes. I have read that people think the Octagon 20 is too small to hatch 24 chicks. Not true! In fact, I think the cramped space kept the chicks from rolling the unhatched eggs around. Last night, all looked comfortable, like a fluffy carpet. This morning when I took them out they were all comfortable, calm, and healthy. They are now sleeping under the EcoGlow.
I'm not saying this is gospel and everyone should do what I did, it's just what worked for me, in my area, with my eggs. I'm not changing a thing on the next hatch!

I am so excited! I candled a day early (Day 6 for these eggs) since I was discouraged about my shipped eggs still not arriving & holy smokes! I was hoping for at least 1 of my flock's eggs being fertile. I was not expecting 4/7 to be developing into chicks! OMG I'm so nervous now!

Not sure what I'm gonna do now if/when my Phoenix bantam eggs show up. Might have to go buy a backup incubator from TSC this weekend!

Wow! Look at all the action, and I swear I wasn't gone that long

So...I candled and cleared out the bad eggs from my Havobator tonight...Started with 39 eggs...8 shipped BR were clear, and 1 local egg had the ring of death, and 1 was clear. Which left me with 29 eggs that I set on the 22nd of Feb. My second incubator held 14 SLW set on the 24th of Feb, and 20 Black Bantam Orps set on Feb 27th. All 14 SLW were clear....I bought these from Ebay....the lady has no desire to work with me, and says if I want any money back, talk to the post office....pretty shitty if you ask me, so even though the weather was terrible and it may not have been her fault, just her attitude is enough for me to give her a poor rating. BUT my 20 BBOs!! OMG all are developing, I only lost one with the red ring of death. I was sooo excited after I candled them tonight! I bought them from Bama1 on the last chance egg auction on here. Her eggs were all fertile, and the packing was awesome.

Even though I am tossing 25 eggs tonight, I am still excited about what is going on in my incubators! Happy hatching everyone!!

of course now I am sitting here worried about taking a dozen eggs out of each incubator making the temperatures change.....
