This is actually #2 that hatched this morning. The first one was making such a fuss I quickly got him out and put him in the brooder. 7 more pips so far. I think it's going to be a busy day.

So, my hatch is finally finished!! Out of 6 Wheatens, I got 3 hatched, one that didn't even make it to chick stage, and two that were bloody on the inside but alive. It bugs me SO much!!! They were breathing, but not moving. . .

I have half their shell off, and they're resting inside the incubator, in their shell. . . I have NO clue what to do with them, but I'm leaving them there. As for the Black Coppers - Of 11, I got 5. The rest were dead in the shell.

As for the alive ones - Pics up soon! They're all doing fine in the brooder, and SO darn cute! Especially the Wheatens - They're so contrasted with their bright lemony blonde color, and are SO big!

So, I have 11 out of 19.

I would cover the open part with Damp papertowels so they don't get stuck.....and see if they will continue to thrive.

After 21 days the incubator coming unplugged (temp dropped to 80

) and then the temp spiking to 104 I have 24 adorable "mutt" chicks!

I know... I didn't even have a place ready for them because I was so sure I was a complete failure so when they started to hatch I had to do a mad dash to get a brooder ready.

I had 31 1 died in the shell

and the rest had no pipping ? or anything.

I think my last two unhatched ones are dead. . . No more breathing. I'm glad though - I'm pretty sure they were extremely underdeveloped, as they had blood and it looked like they were curled ontop of their yolks.

Well, that leaves my last 4 staggered babies to hatch tomorrow! Who knows, they might hatch tonight.

I can't wait to see what color they are, and if they'll have walnut combs, and how much fuzz will be on their feet.
