Tonight was lockdown, so far I havent had to do anything to my bator, Its the first time I candled them, well here it is out of 34 eggs, 23 remain, I had 14 that were shipped 6 cuckoo marans 4 made it. 6 EE'S shipped 1 made it, rest not fertile or had detached air cell, 2 orp/ee 1 made it. My own eggs combo of EE and faverolle and 3 lightbrown leghorn/black jersey(none of them had any devolement all my fav's and EE's made it into lockdown, Well we'll see what happens now waiting for temp and humidity to stablize so I can take my tired butt to bed. I can't wait to see what happens over nexted couple days, even though I really excited I think I'm more tired.

While I was outside getting my grandson (8 yrs old) out of the car with his overnight bag......

My eggs decided to get busy! 3 Pips!!!!

So I can now see 3 pips, and 2 chicks are visible through the pips.

Humidity is about 53-55% Temp bounced to 101.3 (ooops)

Congrats to everyone who has had successful hatches so far! Madcap and Nellabean your peeps are adorable!!! I've got chick fever so bad... Its day 20 here and no action (and I'm thinking there won't be)

. I'll give it 'til Monday. My local Big R store gets chicks in next week so I may go get a few. I'm also planning on setting another batch eggs. Try, try, try again

Here are some pics.

and this one that hatched, M2, is still waiting on No. 1 to finish zipping....

As of now, #1 still hasn't fully hatched out...zipped to at least half the shell. I'm worried about it's membrane becoming dried out b/c it's taking so long to hatch...(it had pipped and zipped 1/2 inch at 600 AM). Humidity is at 65-68% and I've done everything I can think of to increase it, but only goes up a few degrees. Water reservoirs are full, and only 1 vent hole is open. I'm going to wait, b/c I know that if it's not going to hatch, it might not survive in the world anyways.
Here's a closeup:

So, I've only got one fuzzy butt at the moment...one zipping, and the other two: still waiting.

Take care and happy hatching!

Here's the update: BO #1 is finally out of shell, with bits of shell still stuck to feathers. She's

very unstable on her feet...it seems she has strength in her legs, but her toes don't want to stretch out for her to walk. Of course, that might be also because she's curling them. I'm not complaining, though! They can walk around in less than a day....it took me an entire year or so to learn!

So that's that good news.
Bad news:
OMG! My humidity jumped up from 65% to 77%...and my temp is down to 94! What gives?!

Well, I've still got the other two BO eggs (#s 3 and 6) to go. Wish them luck!

I've got pics to show of the chickies, but I can't get to the computer as DW is sleeping still. She worked last night til 11.
That's it for now. Back to folding laundry!
