one either polish or silkie is 3/4 zipped
at least 4-5 more pipped
31 with no noticable action yet

is there a recommended time to remove the shells and babies? It's getting a little messy in there. I read don't open if anyone is pipped but that could be several days if this incubator has hot and cool spots.

I pretty sure this is what you get when your spitzhauben roo sneaks a fast one on your Faverolles. The chicks are cute I think my red girl is hot for my spitzhauben boy. Cute chicks though

: This morning I candled [day 7] the 35 LF test eggs.......................4 ? clears, 4 w/minimal cloudiness below air sac and 27 developing nicely! YESSSSSSSSSSS!!

Of the 10 Speckled Sussex: 2 probable clears and EIGHT [8] developing!!!

My friend's blue-green egg looked more like a 10-12 day developer. Hm-m-m-m, wonder if Mom had been sitting on it??????????????

Regardless, I won't re-candle until lockdown.

Just wanted to report that the lil cochin is doing good with the bandaid remedy and the rest are running around like crazy I put papertowels over the newspaper to help the other ones get better traction, but I was wondering when do you put them on wood shavings?? and is sawdust ok??- it's pine the same stuff we put in the horses stalls at work.

I'm pretty sure that this is the longest hatching of my LIFE!!! There is absolutely no reason why these chicks shouldn't make an appearance. Everything was perfect in the chic chick bator all the way to now! *le sigh* I'm only up to 3 chicks out of 14 eggs so far.

Chicky Tock some of the eggs you sent were clear I'm thinking maybe not fertile have you been having any issues with that. Just a thought.

Well, Greg bought me a brand new sportsman cabinet incubator while I was in hospital and he's had it up and running empty for a while now so I'm going to put my chicken eggs in it this afternoon since the turkeys still aren't laying

. This first test run on the new bator will contain only EE chicks.....well, actually several of my girls are EEs and the roo is a gorgeous EE but some of the girlies are some white rocks and red sex links that the neighbor man gave us. But I'm hoping that all the chicks will get their little chipmunk cheeks and green egg laying ability from daddy.
