March Hatch-A-Long.( How is it gettting here so quick ? LOL )

Looks like this one pipped the wrong end. Is it doomed?

No, give it some time. About half the day. If it hasn't made any progress by late this afternoon, you will have to help it out. I've helped many, let them sit for a while once that beak is cleared. They do fine if you go slow on helping. Good luck..it may just hatch that way and make it easier for you. And itself. :)

Thanks for the help. So far only the 1 has hatched. There are 9 pipped including the breech baby, but none seem to be in any hurry. I can see the breech moving every so often through the pip so I'm not intervening right now. Everybody needs to hurry up because this first guy is already completly dry and so LONELY!

Day 21 today for me. No pips on day 20 but several were rocking around tonight when I came to bed.

Fingers crossed as my first two attempts with bcm hatches weren't great (all late losses).

Tried the dry method this time... humidity mostly @ 20 and temps were rock solid @ 99

Day 10 on my 14 BLRW eggs.... today is toss day. I have great movement and veining in 12 of 14 eggs! one of them has an air cell on the side of the egg near the top but not in the tip. the shape of the air cell is round and regular, I've never seen an air cell quite like it. will be keeping an eye on that one for suspected malposition at hatch day...

Of 14 I had 1 clear and 1 early quitter (4ish days), so those were culled today. the odds are looking good so far!

just a little note...that temp is too low...99.5 is the lowest...at 99 you probably won't have issues with deformity

but maybe a little later to hatch
dry hatch still try to keep humidity at 25%

Well tomorrow is lockdown for the 1ST eggs incubated in my new Bator. I'm getting nervous! I did purchase a thermo/hygrometer for my hatcher, but I am really struggling to stabilize it b4 lockdown time! It did great all day yesterday, but then this morning it was all over the place! Of course it got really cold last night. Then to make matters worse I realized my goofy butt wasn't stabilizing it at egg level!!! REALLY??? So a fresh start this morning.. GRRR I only have 19 hours left. I am so buying another Genesis asap! Its so easy!!

Sorry, I was short on time posting this morning - I should have been more specific, I meant 99.5 - the digital controller I use keeps it within .3c (or .5f ish) of the target temp, which I had set @ 99.5 and a second digital thermometer I use that records min/max showed it to have kept within that range the whole run. I cross checked with a known accurate mercury oral thermometer in an egg sized "water wiggle".

My humidity would swing from a low of around 16% with all vents open to ~ 40% with all but one closed. I would adjust them a couple of times a day when it reached one or the other extremes to bring it back into the 20s - where it spent most of the time. I candled every few days and they looked to be on track from that perspective. I didn't add any water until lock-down, and then only a little was required to brink it up near 70.

I started getting sporadic peeps a few hours ago and just had my first pip when I sat down to write this!

Humidity is at 20? That's way too low. Should be around 60 to 65. You may want to mist your eggs..so the shells will soften for them. :) Maybe you put 20 instead of say..60 accidentally?
