There are some very beautiful winter pics too. This was taken Feb 2nd. It was a beautiful crisp day. Normally the snow blows away, but the snow made this very special pic even better!


Ok back to hatching. I'm going to check the eggs tonight

Update on my Brahma duds.. Now two are showing signs of life! Yaaayyyyyy!! With two I'll be really happy. If I can hatch at least three I'll be ecstatic!

Got my two batches of Salmon Faverolles eggs in the mail today. All the eggs look great and no detached air cells.

Will be adding them to the incubator tomorrow morning.

I can't hatch chicks just yet, so I love seeing all of the candling/hatching/chick pictures.

Nope, He's had been out all winter except for the last month due to an injury. He's just keeps a slick coat, his half sister is the same way. If I blanket her you can't even tell she has winter hair. It makes it nice for winter riding, they don't get so sweaty and wet.

Well looks like this batch is a complete bust. I candled last night and after 13 days nothing except one with a blood ring.

I'm not going to take them out just yet since this was a test run. I can still use them to check for correct moisture loss, and who knows, maybe my flashlight just isn't bright enough for a good candling.
