March hatch along

I think you'll be just fine. Good luck!!

Thank you!
How confident are you of the accuracy of the thermometer ?

Pretty confident. Its a decent one from a reptile shop that measures temp and humidity. At times its a half degree difference from my mercury thermometer. Right now they are about the same. So what do you think? Did I ruin my clutch?

@AandAranch - I had a hard time getting mine up to temp too. I spent about a day and a half after I set my eggs getting mine up to proper temp. Mine are developing quite well and no harm seems to be done. Long as you trust your thermometer like Johnderosa said you should be fine.
Good luck to you!

Your eggs should be just fine. At the worst, you may have delayed your hatch by a few hours. Here is a link that explains a range of temps and how they can affect your hatch. It's a useful chart. It takes a lot of the stress out of fluctuating incubator temps.

I agree with the rest... You should be fine. It's always better to be a little low for a bit than high. Good luck!

We got our shipment of eggs, 18 bantam Wyandottes, on Monday. I set them yesterday afternoon (Tuesday). Most of them had detached air cells so their not turning at the moment. One looked like it had 2-3 floaters in it, not sure if this is blood spots/meat spots or bubbles in the Albumen. At any rate I don't expect that one to hatch, which is a shame since I only got 5 of that variety. I sure hope this goes better than the last hatch all of those turned out to be duds

Not sure if they were infertile, I opened 3 of them and couldn't tell if they were very early deaths or not.

Dumb question: Do I count yesterday, the day they were set, as day 1, or today as day 1?

Thanks

Not a dumb question at all.... And the answer is.... Count the day they were set as day 1.
