March hatch along

Don't give up everyone has good and bad hatches. I know it stinks cuz you take care of them and can't wait for that magical day. Get some more and try again who knows. I have learned not to open the incubator at end no matter what and I get better results. Sorry though for now hope one surprises you, or two...

Guys, something is wrong and I'm about done. Still NOTHING. No silkies have pipped internally. Two AMs and one (not so hot-looking) brahma appear to have, but have made zero progress past that. It makes me sick to think of helping, because I feel like failing at that will make me feel like I shouldn't have.

This sucks. I don't know what to do. I'm mostly sick that my first ever chicken hatch has left this taste in my mouth when I was SO!! Excited.

Well I had 14 that should have hatched yesterday. Last night we candled and saw 0 movement. So I opened the end at the air sack to see if they were shrink wrapped, and they were

. This was my first hatch with my new larger incubator, and I just feel awful. We have one that we were able to save.... but I have had to help it a good bit. As bad as this sounds, I am glad I learned this lesson now, because I have eggs coming from Texas, and I will be much more careful with my humidity. If I wouldn't have checked, I wouldn't have been able to help my last survivor;

Thanks Kassaundra for the helpful advice.

Just hoping this little one makes it.

Okay. Things just got real. lol.

I candled one more time, and those that have internally pipped are looking a little different each time (as in, more internally pipped than before) and are VERY active. One I can hear tapping.

So. I have put two more soaked rags in, made a sort of wet rag nest around them.. Shut the lid, TAPED THE BATOR SHUT, and taped around the windows as well.

They'll either hatch, or drown. :lau

Here's to hatching! :jumpy

Woot woot I'll drink to that!! At least now you gotta keep lid shut or work really hard to get in. Prayin for chicks for ya. How is everyone else doing with their babies? I am living vicariously thru u until mine hopefully make their way into the world in 1 1/2 weeks

Its day 13 here, I candled yesterday and all 12 of the fertile eggs are still growing. The one that was behind seems to have fought up. I'm not sure if my cracked egg will make it, but it still had movement yesterday. Very excited. So much to still go wrong! Also very anxious, if you couldn't tell...

I have egg with a dent in it from being shipped last I checked it was developing and the dent is below the aircell. I am curious to see how far it goes I also have a couple eggs with cracks in themthat are developing I use clear nail polish (or colored when its all I got) to seal them up.

It's a party in my incubator! I can't tell what all I do have. About the best I can tell I've got 15 hatched, 3-4 more zipping, and 5-6 more pips. I really can't tell though because the hatched ones are really active. I guess later on I'll start transferring them to the brooder and maybe then I can see if there are any that need help. So far everything has hatched fine on it's own. Even the one that was breach hatched in the night. They are a great mix of colors so far, I have blacks, blues, and reds. Some of the EE I can tell will have the puffy faces I love so well. I'll try to get some pics from the brooder for you.
I'm following closely with you CarCar80. Sounds like they may make it after all. :)

I dont know what day you are on but give it til day 25 anyway Sometimes a low temp will cause them to be later. You've gone this far...unless your positive they are dead. .
My VERY first 2 hatches.... TWO HATCHES..... i got NOTHING!! I was so naiive i thought if you put eggs in the bator and did it all of it right you would get 12 out of 12!!!..HAHAHAHAHA WAs I SOOO dissapointed shocked on the first and by the second mad......Which caused me to keep buying eggs until I got some little raskals .. 3rd hatch got 1 then days later ....started to get 5 or so every time. All shipped. but you gotta get your hatching down pat.
Little ajustments make a big diifference.
