March hatch along

No change yet in the taped-shut bator.

Well, I eggtopsied the three eggs I pulled this morning. All were fully formed, beautiful babies. One dark-colored silkie and two lav AMs.

So is this the end for this hatch?

Well, I still have several in the bator that I sealed up to keep humidity up. These three were for sure dead when I last candled this morning. So now I don't know what to do.

I honestly don't feel like these were hatch-time deaths.. I think a few days before. But I'm no expert.

Just how sealed up is it? I hope you don't mean it has no ventilation now? CO2 is much more dangerous than low humidity, right? I'm always so scared to block any vents! This is good information for me, thank you!

No just taped the edges and around the windows. Vents are still open.

The edge where you sit the top half down on the bottom half, that is.. (Styrofoam bator)

Okay. I may or may not have untaped the bator.

Either way, the tape was wet (good sign that was where my humidity was going).. The one remaining Brahma is now filling the ENTIRE air cell and is CHEEPING!! (Still no pip yet)..

The two AMs still look good, too.. So I added more water, taped the bator back. Now at least I'm no longer worried about shrink wrap. Seeing the one completely in the air cell makes me feel much better.

I'm now hoping, if this Brahma DOES hatch, that it'll have at least one other hatch with it until I can get more babies this week.
