March hatch along

Well here are some pics of my wrap up for you. I wound up with 25/30 that went to lockdown, but I left 2 behind in the incubator because they were weak. One of those died last night, and the other has a deformed foot, so I'll probably end up culling it anyway so I don't run the risk of that flaw carrying on in future generations. 23 are happy and healthy and playing in the brooder though. so for the pics: one last shot of the bator while they were all hatching Then a couple of them dried and fluffy in the brooder. I wound up with lots of roos. :(
:love

Yahoooo! Babies finally. So happy for all of you!!! For day 10 and after don't do anymore opening until lockdown unless you get a stinker. Candle on day 18 crank up humidity put top on and check through windows only don't open you can do it be strong. I am on day 10 too what are u hatching?

Ok. You're my new hatching buddy. I need all the help I can get. I've got AM, EE, and BR eggs cooking. All are shipped eggs :fl

Could definitely be temp/humidity, or spike in temp for too long, so sorry. Crack some open to see if anything obviously wrong that might be genetic too. But since they all passed at same time would say temp/humidity.:hit

Just candled my lav ameraucana eggs day 8. 11 developing and 1 blood ring. These are from my own flock. Keeping the humidity up a little this time around....

you got it, I haven't been doing this long but I have definitely learned to stop opening incubator and keep humidity lower until lockdown along the way. I have ee and bcm cooking at 99-100 and 30%humidity. Candled 4 of each and they look great so far. How are yours doing??

My temp is between 101 and 102 (still air). My humidity is about 45 with no water in there. It's higher than I'd like, but has only gone up the last few days while it's been raining. Was 35 before that. Only one I suspect is developing slower than others. Pulled out one blood ring, two clears, and one leaky. That leaves me with 11 cooking.

I have never used still air, is that temp normal for still air???  B/c it seems high to me.

Everybody says 102 for still air. I guess it's cause you're measuring the air temp above the eggs. Somehow they derived this number at the top makes the egg 99.5 inside. It is a little scary, but I'm hoping everything I've read here is steering me in the right direction.
