March hatch along

Question:

How soon can I introduce chicks from different brooders to each other?

I've got my 6 L brahmas that are about 3.5 wks old, and 6 SLW that are just over a week old. I wasn't planning to do it until the SLWs are about 3 wks old, then the size difference shouldn't be so drastic. Eventually these 2 breeds will be in the same pen, so I want to socialize them with each other as early as possible.

the waiting game...lol

Today is day 20 for me, no pips and I don't hear anything yet. I did have the temperature on 99.5 for the first week before I raised it back to the default setting of 100, so I'm not going to get extremely worried about them for a few more days. I do have a question for you all though... I have my humidity at 65%... should I raise it closer to 70% even though they haven't started hatching? Last time around the eggs started hatching almost as soon as I put them into lockdown and the humidity shot up to over 70% very quickly so I didn't worry about it.

65% is fine from what I have read, I wouldn't raise it.

I've combined different hatches when they were young like that. It's best to do it in the evening right before dark. They will all bed together and in the morning there will still be some discord, but it isn't as bad.
They will be fine.
