March hatch along

I've combined different hatches when they were young like that. It's best to do it in the evening right before dark. They will all bed together and in the morning there will still be some discord, but it isn't as bad.
They will be fine.
I often combine hatches... Havent had a problem yet. The age difference i ve done is up to three or four weeks. I always wait until the younger ones are more than a week old and very sassy. I move both batches into a new brooder and try to have more of the small ones than older. I also introduce some of the young ones first and then do the older ones one at a rime and then some of the smaller ones. It is good to do it at night, as suggested. You may get a little squabbling but never had a problem. I would be reluctant to do it if the older ones far out number the younger ones though

Well I just eggtopsied a couple eggs. I'm on day 16. Looks like one died on the ninth day and the other on the 10th. I have no idea what happened. Neither smelled bad and all the other eggs are doing fine. My forced air incubator got up to 102* sometime last week during the night but I don't know for how long. I hope those two weren't hens. I read that cockrels can withstand higher incubation temperatures than pullets :/

One of my hens has made a nest on the ground and is currently sitting on some eggs...im wondering if I should move her?

Thanks guys. I have 6 older & 6 younger. I'll wait until the weekend and then try to combine them to see how they do.

My 14 Rhodebar eggs went on lockdown on Monday night. Due for hatch tomorrow. But as of this morning I have three pips , rocking and lots of chirping. One decided to start on the wrong end, maybe because its from a rather round eggs, the eggs are too valuable to remove eggs that were not perfect shaped.

Thank you for the kind wishes everyone. I am not sure which day my chick died. I took pictures of it, if anyone can tell Me more about it. When I got the shell off (without breaking the membrane) I pulled the membrane away and it was smooshed in the bottom 1/3 of the shell. Lost too much fluids. I think it was developing beautifully, if that's any indication of how the other, non-cracked eggs are going.

I just hatched several rhodebars last weekend. I love that you can sex them after they dry off, but having said that... I got lots of roos! they are feisty little chicks, and very hearty so far.
