March hatch along

Not much sleep but up to 9 ee 4 more pipped. 1 zipping bcm and 6 more pipped. Yahoooo I'll take pics when everyone is out and dry. Christine I hope you start pipping soon since your at day 20 now. Why do babies always like to come in the night?

I was a little disappointed with no pipping this morning but...I've got three AMs going for it now. I'm hoping they'll be out before bed. YIPPEE!!!

I am on day 21 and day 19 woke up this morning ond one of my sweet children had turned the incubator off I was a little hot over it lol. The Temp had dropped to 75 so it will be a wonder if this batch hatches so disapointing these would be my first pure bred chicks. But I guess it is what it is. I am hoping for a pip tonight but not holding my breath I will be happy to get anything at this point because all of these eggs have very bad detached aircells that are huge. So they don't have a lot going for them. just have to wait and see what happens.

AND one of the second batch on day 18 is rocking. One of these AMs is really trying to get out of there. This is too fun to watch.

Oh no! Please let the kids know it's not the end of the world.
When I was a little boy, my dad put some ring neck pheasant eggs under a broody. He only had one hatch. I picked it up to look at it and dropped it, killing it immediately.
He was so mad about it.
I still think about it every time I see baby chicks, and it's been over 30 years ago, and Dad has been dead for 20 years. I've never quit feeling bad about killing that one. I can close my eyes and picture the whole thing to this day.
I'd be willing to bet you'll still have a turnout on the hatch.
Best of luck to you on it. I'll be looking for your updates.

I've heard a drop in temp is not as bad as spike so you just might get some. I am waiting for 3 more bcm pippers and will let other 3 stay for another day or so to see if if they are gonna do anything. I don't know if you guys do dry incubation but I have had awesome results since starting. Something to think about if having trouble with late deaths and small air cells. I also never knew ee had such variety is that normal?

EEs are not really a breed...they are mix of different birds so great variability is expected

I knew ee were mutts but I didn't expect such a wide variety pretty cool. If it makes you feel better sasimpson77 my daughter let my chick eating lab in bedroom not realizing I still had eggs and chicks and while the lid landed on top of everything saving 6 live chicks they got drenched in old incubator water and eggs with pips got all cracked up I opened as much as I could filled up incubator put them back in with warm wet paper towels praying they make it. One of my bcm is solid white is that like an albino or something? It is one that got smushed so hopefully it pulls through. Gotta love them kids =) my poor daughter was about to cry how could anyone get mad at that? Poor thing it was just an accident. Hopefully no one else has any child induced trauma and drama during their hatches.
