March hatch along

I have 18 black ameraucana eggs scheduled to arrive tomorrow and 12 BCM eggs scheduled for thursday... I will add in as many lavender ameraucana eggs i wind up with by then. They have taken a break in laying the last few days so mot sure how many i will get ... Only have 5 so far. The 12 i hatched out earlier are doing well so adding more right now is not critical,

Day 8 here- another very quick candle showed lots more veining and a definite 9/12 legbar eggs plus the EE/OE egg lookin great as well. Had a day of humidity lag yesterday but today it's been trucking right along, 101-102 and 35%

I have four hatched and 4-6 pupped/zipping. One of the babies didn't make it, it was mostly absorbed but it had such a terrible cross beak, I've never seen such a thing!

Cant wait to get an update on their progress. Which one was the cross beak?

I am still waiting on my BCM eggs... Last I checked they were in PA. Was hoping they would arrive yesterday. My black am eggs arrived on Wed and are cooling their jets in the basement. Luckily the oldest egg is from the 12th with most from 4/13 & 4/14. I am going to be pushing it with some of my lav am eggs as i have 1 that was laid on the 6th. Oh well, patience, patience.

I hear ya. Once I get these hatched I've got Brahma shipping on 5/5.. I will likely set another doz BCM eggs with those and be done for the season. For which my husband is grateful! :L

It was a shipped silkie egg that I also dropped before setting. I have quite a few alive, but it got dried out, so I'm moistening their membranes and one of them peeped at me! It was so cute!
My second ameraucana is out, but it got stuck in its shell last night. It pipped day before yesterday and this morning it was stuck in the same position it was in all day yesterday. He was all absorbed just had to dump him out lol

My BCM eggs still haven't arrived... Hung up with the USPS. Very frustrating. I went ahead and set 18 black ameraucana eggs + 7 lavender ameraucana eggs on friday. I will add the BCM eggs when and if they ever get here even though they will have been in transit for at least 7 days if they arrive on Monday. I'm beginning to think I wasn't meant to have decent BCM stock. I've been trying for three years and still dont have any birds that i would breed forward. These eggs are from someone with really nice birds...
