Alright the early birds are going for it I have 3 of the Marans Buff x out healthly and 1 BCM just hatched, many pips

Batch 2 is taking forever, still pipping on day 23, I will have to pull the dry chicks this afternoon, hoping the the slowbys get with it before I pull the top!!!!!!

Batch 4 set yesterday
5 Bev Davis BCM from onthespot
9 Blue Olive Eggers from onthespot
12 of my own BCM
9 of my own Amera X BCM
3 Turkeys from batch 3 who will go to the hatcher 3/16

Should be ready to set batch 5 around 3/24

My first hatch is over, I feel sad yet relieved! I set 7 CMX and all 7 hatched!! They all look like Daddy (the CM)!! Now for the ducks on Friday!

ETA:
ok I candled the 4 eggs remaining in the incubator from my March Hatch no movement
Eggtopsy revealed the following:
2 obvious blood rings....
2 just quit, no obvious signs.
No internal pips
looks to have quit somewhere between 18-21.

so Hatch #4 results:
27 eggs set
2 infertile
2 early quiters
2 late quiters
2 blood rings

19 hatched out of 23 in lockdown.
Fertility 92.59%
hatchability 82.61%

Yep. Not a stupid question at all! If you don't ask, how would you know?

when I candled the ring was there around the aircell - when I did the eggtopsy it showed at the bottom of the aircell, where it met the chick. it goes all around the width of the egg.

I had only 3 go into lockdown out of a bator full but the power was off for a week and I thought I had lost them all. I put hot water bottles in with them to keep some kind of heat in there.
1 little blue silkie hatched late last night and the other silkie is pipped but nothing on the third egg yet. It is a glw. I am giving them a little extra time because of the power outage. I named it Miracle.
