I candled my eggs today.
One batch was great (marans, welsummers, easter eggers and americ.) only 3 out of 11 were not good
The other batch wasn't very good at all. Only 3 out of 10 were fertile and growing :/

I can't wait for them to start hatching! It's going to be a nice variety of chicks!

YAY!!! I hatched out some of the same mix I set you over the weekend and I only had 3 of 19 set not start and one went but didn't hatch, and I had a power outage during the incubation so I knew I'd have issues. My boys waaaaay do their job... Lots of fluffy cheeks and feather shanks out of them too! Lots of them look like little FCMS, black with lighter bellies and a couple of chipmunky ones.

daze333 has some hatching this weekend, I can't wait to see how they go!

Go chickies go! I set the incubator yesterday, and I'm setting the new one next weekend in time to a hatching while some "city folk" friends and their kids are visiting! It will be fun rearranging the house during their visit, since the brooder bin rack is in the guest bathroom shower!

So far 1 easter egger out and one more pipped as well as a welsummer pip
