Mareks disease

How common is Mareks disease? I usually buy my chicks from individuals, and they aren't vaccinated... should I be concerned?

If your chicks are not vaccinated, they can die from exposure to the virus. All it took was one chicken I purchased. There is no way to tell.

I started vaccinating all my day old chicks last year when I lost 10+ chicks under the age of 12 weeks. It's best to vaccinate.
