We have 6 Marek's vaccinated hatchery chicks (3 days old) from My Pet Chicken.
We just hatched 3 of our own chicks here.
My question is - is there a risk to letting them mix, and if so, how grave a risk is it? I am planning on ordering Marek's vaccination and inoculating our home hatched chicks, but at the moment, I would like to move the new babies into the real brooder.
They are in the same room right now, with the home hatched chicks in a box outside of the brooder. Would they already be likely exposed? Can the vaccinated chicks carry Marek's?
Can you tell I am not really up on my Marek's?
ETA - actually just realized I used the hatchery chick's shipping box to transport our hatched chicks from the incubator to the brooder room. So if they were going to get anything they would already be exposed, correct?
