If you are hatching out a very small amount of chickens who can you get to vaccinate them.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Michael gave you some good links to check out, you pretty much have to vaccinate them yourself, or if you want to pay a vet visit, your vet could get the vaccine and do it for you. About the only other thing you could do is check your state thread and see if anyone near you is vaccinating chicks the same time you would need to.

Good luck with your poultry raising adventures, and I hope you find everything you need to know. Don't forget to take a look at BYC's very useful learning center (If you haven't already)! The learning center as well as the forum should answer your questions! There is always something new to learn! Glad to have you here! See you around with the flock.

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

Kelsie X2 You will have to vaccinate them yourself. If there is anyone around your area that keeps chickens, maybe they could help you out and vaccinate for you.

Good luck with your hatch and welcome to our flock!

Some chickeners have Marek's vaccination days because they have to purchase the vaccine in large numbers - and others come to have their chicks done at a reasonable price.

I believe the vaccination should be done at one day to be effective , so it would be hard to find a group at the right time.

It is worthwhile to have a vet do it, if he will -anything to lessen the chance of Marek's is worth it. It is a horrible disease and will contaminate your grounds, etc. for many years to come.
