I recently lost 6 4 month old chickens.1 every other day..i treated them with corrid...the others were fine for a few weeks and now its starting back up again,i just lost 2 in the last 2 days.. and its with the same flock..symptoms are they lay kind of on one side and cant move very well, they will eat and drink but are dead by the next day. Any idea what it could be?

Hi. I'm having a similar problem. Leg paralysis, some just dying after showing no symptoms. Some losing sight, eyes crusty and leaky... I've lost 7 chickens now and am in a panic. I'm so sorry you are going thru something like this. It's awful and I feel helpless.
*I am unfamiliar with corrid but have seen it pop up on these boards. Would love to know if it can help me and my situation

I have had luck with treating these symptoms with Nutri Drench 1 ml oral syringe daily and passive range of motion. It took several months to get back 100%, but my chicken is back with flock and laying eggs daily.

Hi @mlkeen
I'm sorry for your losses.

The symptoms you describe could be a disease like Marek's, but there are other conditions/illnesses that can look very similar. Without testing there is no way to know for sure. Sending a bird to your state lab for testing would be a very good idea since you have lost so many in a short period of time.

@lizzbitt It's sometimes easier to get answers when you start your own thread.
Paralysis, crusty eyes, losing sight - could be a respiratory illness. I recommend that you send a bird or two for testing as well. See the link I posted. Contact your state lab.

FWIW- CORID is a Coccidiostat and only treats Coccidiosis, which is a protozoa that lives in the intestines of chickens.
