Im pretty sure at least three of them have quit, two of which are the ones with the worst saddle cells.

I kept my two Khaki Campbells in the house in a big pool with puppy pads that I had to change regularly. I went though lots of pads as they were in the house for 6 weeks as I had a brain cloud and got them in February and it was too cold to put them out until they were fully feathered. It kept the stink down but I am sure my garbage man was happy when they finally got off the pads and our trash can was a whole lot lighter. lolHappy Easter! I have brooded ducklings a few times before, although, never 18 at once! They are moving out to a heated shed since we need the bathtub back and they stink, lol! I have a big pool I plan to line with straw or shavings and set up a sleeping and watering/food area.
Any tips or pictures of what works for you would be appreciated! Thanks!
I haven't hatched a lot of ducklings yet, but what I've liked best for set up was putting them in a raised cage with a wire floor covered with a mat like this:Happy Easter! Thank you! I like the litter box idea. Perfect size!I haven't hatched a lot of ducklings yet, but what I've liked best for set up was putting them in a raised cage with a wire floor covered with a mat like this:View attachment 3462283
I added a kitty litter box full of hay on one side for sleeping and another litter pan full of water on the other side for bathing etc. It made cleaning really easy and kept the smell down. A quick rinse with a hose while I change the water and the mats clean. Everything stays pretty dry and the mats seemed easy on their feet.
Oh my, I bet that was a lot of work! I didn't end up moving mine out, much to my husband protests! Lol! Another week... they are still so little!I kept my two Khaki Campbells in the house in a big pool with puppy pads that I had to change regularly. It was a lot of work. I was constantly changing the pads but it taught me a valuable lesson. Don't buy ducklings in the WINTER!!!! LOLOh my, I bet that was a lot of work! I didn't end up moving mine out, much to myI husband protests! Lol! Another week... they are still so little!
Oh no! What day is it? Maybe give them a few more days. I had 3 thermometers running and they all read different. I think mine was actually running a little low which is why my last one didn't hatch until day 30!I think mine all died. None of them look good and today was supposed to be hatch day. There was a power outage a few days ago and I plugged the incubators into a generator, but I think the temp has been low since then.![]()
They may be, but duck eggs can appear dead but not be.I think mine all died. None of them look good and today was supposed to be hatch day. There was a power outage a few days ago and I plugged the incubators into a generator, but I think the temp has been low since then.![]()
