We've made some progress! Still a slow road I think. How’s your girl doing by the way? I’ve been thinking about her, but haven’t popped into that thread in a bit

Smaller legs than what she has would be like... no legs. They're smaller than my pinky finger and only about 2.5 inches long.Would selection for smaller/narrower eggs help prevent that?
I don't know your age. My family had no choice as I started out rescuing 2 baby wild Mallards during covid when everything was shut down. I kept them for a while and then they flew off but I have one of their half offspring that was half Mallard and half Rouen Hen. I went on to keep adding to my flock until now I have 14 and I don't even know how I managed to get that many, lol. I have sold my family on eating duck eggs and so now they have justified themselves being able to live here since they are the only pets I have ever had that I feed them and they feed us. Good luck on selling your family on them. They are quite messy and can be quite loud depending on the breed you would get but my love for them outweighs all else.I have always wanted to get ducks, especially calls, but everyone else in my family doesn't like ducks![]()
Eggs. Not legs.Smaller legs than what she has would be like... no legs. They're smaller than my pinky finger and only about 2.5 inches long.
Get some and I'll 'babysit' them for you! Just saw a bunch on Kijiji, btw.I'd never heard of call ducks before joining BYC. I don't think they are very common here. They are adorable thoughbut I have no room for ducks or a pond.
Oh good grief. I was like... um.. not sure leg size would help.Eggs. Not legs.
