I can't remember if I've asked this question and I'm too lazy to go back through. What day do your call duck eggs typically hatch on? 4 of mine will be on day 26 on Sunday the 2nd and I'm wondering when I need to go and lock down.

I put safety holes in on day 25/6 and start assisting the end of day 26. They are usually out by day 27.

Definitely do not make a hole before they internally pip.
My pet quality calls hatch pretty well on their own. Show quality, more typey ones usually need help. So depending on your eggs, try to wait for an external pip on their own, if possible.

I never ever make a safety hole before internal pip. There would be exceptions to this rule of course. (if they are malpositioned and/or don't pip internally within a decent timeframe etc)
