does anyone know where to get the best cornish x line for market pen classes?Where have the big winners gotten their's?

Is this for youth showing? My son shows 4H broilers and you must purchase them from an approved place. That way all the youth start out with comparable chicks.

If it is adult, there are 3 major lines.

It is 4-H but MN does not have that rule.Do you know which of those lines are the most successful?

Cackle offers discounts for 4H, the heaviest broilers I have grown came from McMurray hatchery but I cant remember if they have 4H deals. Check them out too! Good Luck!

I know you can get broilers from Sunnyside in WI. it's closer for you. And they have good healthy birds. I think for 4-H isn't there a requirement for age of the bird. My kids are in 4-H in WI. and I think they require specific age group. Mike

I don't know what your rules are there but what these people are saying would make sense as it is 4-h.

Double check with your Ag extension agent or 4H leader. I thought it was a pretty universal rule that 4H kids all had to start with comparable birds. Rules are so strict here that all chicks are from the same days hatch and are marked with wing bands. The wing band numbers are recorded and signed for at the time you pick up your birds. You can only show birds with the numbers you signed for. This way all pens have birds of the same exact age.

But if they really don't have any restrictions where you are, McMurray has some of the best broilers IMHO. I've been very pleased with their CX line.
