Marketing your chickens

I have never heard of a Dark Cornish. Extol upon us the virtue of this bird and what is the benefit of me paying more money for your specific birds. I don't want to be sold but I want to buy the best I can afford for me and mine.

I suspect that any ad that said "meat" on my local Craigslist would be flagged off immediately. You can't place an ad for meat rabbits, or even for an un-spayed dog. The control freaks keep craigslist under tight control and no one is allowed to do anything they don't approve of.

Different CL areas have different issues. You don't need a reason to flag someone apparently. Some unscrupulous car dealers spend the day flagging their competition.

It is amazing how cell phones and the internet changed our lives.

Dark Cornish are heavy, muscular, tight feathered birds that lay brown eggs and require little feed if allowed free range. They are a Gourmet delight. The heirloom Dark Cornish has been said to be the best tasting chicken of all. It is a large, stocky breed, and is often crossed with other breeds to enhance meat production.

As a consumer, you can expect to see more breast meat, and a better flavor from this bird than any other bird.

Quote: More money than say what? A chick at the feed store? A free one from the neighbor? A chicken from the store?
In every case except free, my prices are competitive, if not lower than any store . Buy Farm Fresh and support the local economy, and support your local farmers. Not to mention the Health aspects of buying Organic, Hormone free, Pasture raised happy chickens.
My birds taste better, and are fresher than anything you can get at the store. So if paying 25-50 cents more a pound for ORGANIC, HORMONE FREE, PASTURE RAISED chickens, say $1.50-2.00 more a bird than factory raised is worth it you will do it. Your health will thank you :) So will your taste buds..

I asked that as a marketing question, not an assault on you.

I loved the bolded sentence. However, I would never say anything about competitive pricing or even reference cost at the store. Don't give them a reason to research or talk themselves out of it and honestly, if you are only $.50lb higher than the store, in my opinion you aren't charging enough.

From a marketing standpoint, what is the benefit to the customer? Is this a so what statement? I know it means a lot to you, but I am not going to eat a bird that was bred to fight.... Ewwww!

Very nice marketing point. Probably better than most of what I have written.
