Marking Chickens question

Once a couple days old, they get a band (rubber band)

I use zipties right out of the bator.
Usually have to change them 3 times before they are 'full size'.
I remove them if they are being sold.

Zip ties won't either if put on loosely - we have a Silkie hen that's had one on for some 3 years now.

Any type of leg band needs to be monitored and changed out if there's a problem.

LOL! That looks SO familiar! We band the right leg however

You can just barely see the yellow band on the chick walking toward the camera in this photo

I alternate leg annually...colors are for further delineations.
