I have an older incubator without a automatic turner, so
"I am the turner" LOL I need to mark the eggs so as to see which ones are turned and which ones need to be turned... Was thinking about using permanent marker, however wondered if it might be toxic to the developing chick /ducking in the egg.. if not permanent marker--what do you folks suggest?Any thoughts??
thanks

I also hand turn. I use pencil. I have a chunky pencil meant for pre-school/ kindergarden kids, so it is a thicker lead and easier to see the marks. I did not want to use a marker either. Given the heat and then high humidity at hatch, a pencil isn’t going to run or disappear on the egg.
