i rescue all different types of animals, mainly choox. my favourite and best medicine is charcoal which i use for inflammation, pain (anaesthetic), toxicity, infection and bringing choox back to life who look like they're on their deathbed (no vet has yet challenged me and my farm vet helps diagnose and leaves me to the rest as he thinks i have such a great success rate). i saved my greyhound midget from a snake bite 2 years ago with charcoal (it made a huge mess in the car though!). i started dabbling/researching homeopathy because i'd heard that miniscule amounts of a substance has the power to move mountains (hippocrates). then i started looking at the materia medica. now i have over 300 potencies and use them regularly. i am hoping i can help members using natural medicine instead of horrible antibiotics that only cuts the life in half or less of our poor animal kingdom. why should we inflict on animals what human inflict on themselves (just a quick glance at the western homeo sapien tells me something is wrong with them eg killing their own kids, beating up their wives, driving into houses - they need to change their diets and cease eating supermarket foods which contain seriously bad chemicals. all my choox have a wonderful organic raw diet. their favourite food is australian sunflower kernels.

i now have an indian game bird (who was featherless when i rescued him); a black silkie rooster, two bantams and two young hens of mixed origins! i am hoping to increase the population of my indian game birds when i have found monsoon a lover boy.

midget, my greyhound, and the hens share the food bowls! all my animals love each other and no one is aggressive. if i find an aggressive animal it is not long before it settles in to our loving and healthy lifestyle.

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
Interesting approach. I avoid all processed foods and feed my animals raw diets and also formulate about half of my chickens feed to improve the protein quality. So far, I've not needed antibiotics but would use them if required.
It's a double edged sword. While I agree there are a lot of things modern man does wrong with his lifestyle, modern medicine used correctly has greatly increased our longevity and sometimes our quality of life.
