Martinsburg WV Chickenstock Sept 24th 2011 8am- noon

I'm right here at it but I will have to leave early as a family thing has come back up. So I'm selling guineas for sure and maybe be a few others and then I have to go.

I want to publicly thank Ronnie, and all other contributors, for helping make our swap a success. I'm looking forward to a bigger and better one next fall. Tammy, thank you for helping Jonathan do testing. It was appreciated by every single person standing in line.

BTW, thank to everyone that helped run down my escape chickens today.

WOW, Chickenstock was awesome! We sold almost all our chickens!

Still have some Guineas, but then we brought about 60 of the little guys. Hens we thought had disappeared to predators came back with keets in tow. Mass Keets!

Ronnie thanks so much for setting up the Chickenstock. You did a great job. Thanks to Tammy and Tonya for encouraging him to have one this fall. I have some happy customers and friends because of it. The coop guy apologized for his driver not being able to get the coops there. Other than that and the threat of rain, we had a great turnout. Most traffic I've seen at a Chickenstock since I've been coming. Customers were still buying when we packed up after 1pm. Everyone I talked to said it was a great Chickenstock and they'll be back for the next one. Not bad considering we decided to have this Chickenstock only 32 days ago.

Way to go, Ronnie!!!

Great job, guys! Though we didn't find anything we wanted to buy, we still had fun talking to all the "chicken people" and seeing all the birds. Can't wait for next time!

THANK YOU to everyone that came out and supported the fall chickenstock. I think it was a great success. I didn't get a chance to look around as I was swamped with people all day. I wanted thank Tammy and Johnathan for coming out and testing the birds today. I learned a great deal about the rules and regulations for these poultry events from talking with Johnathan so that next event we can have a very clear and defined "rules and regulations". One useful piece of information I gathered that has not been well defined in the past was that out of state birds, including those less than 6 months, need to have the same testing to come to such an event as adult do. The more you know ===★ . Also of note I found out that as a npip member you get your 2 free tests per year however any additional testing needed to take bird across state lines are at done at your cost and not for free as opposed to some misinformation previously posted in this thread.

I also wanted to thank Carol and Dennis / Chicken Junkie for all their help with making the flyer and the posting and re-posting of the flyers around the area. Thanks to everyone that spread the word by putting up flyers in their areas and posting to their appropriate craigslist region and made this a success. I hope to continue to have great events such as today's in the future. Now if anyone needs me I'll be over there ------> curled up in a ball napping after the all niter of getting ready for the swap. I hope everyone had lots of fun, got the birds they were looking for, or got rid of the birds they weren't. Plus a little side cash never hurts and is nice to get something in return for such an enjoyable hobbie. Everyone have a great evening and until next time be well, do good work, and keep in touch.

Ronnie

ps I'm tired please excuse any misspellings, redundancies, and general ramblings

I'm still selling chickens... Sold 7 hens and 2 pullets to a lady I met at Chickenstock yesterday. Please post what you didn't sell here and I'll match you up with people who are looking for them. I'm sure Ronnie has a bunch of names and numbers as well. Post here if you are looking for something as well and we'll try to hook you up with the right people. We'll keep this thread open till next Chickenstock as a place to find and sell your chickens and other poultry. Thanks again for making this an AWESOME Chickenstock!

PS: You can also use http://Facebook.com/ChickenJunkie as a place to advertise for chickens and related items you are trying to sell or want to buy.

I still have 2 - 17 wk old Dominique pullets to sell. One is PQ, other possibly breeder. Both would make nice layers for someone. Thanks.
