Hi and welcome to BYC. I would suggest that you wean the chicks gradually of a heat source before putting them outdoors

Hello, Mary, and welcome to BYC. I would put them outside as soon as possible and provide a heat source. Then as Mr Porky has suggested gradually wean them from the heat as temperatures moderate.
