Maryland Poultry Swap & Farmer's Market **UPDATED w/ PICS pg.43**

"and one can enjoy the fact that they are helping to conserve what is likely the rarest, living breed of American chicken." lol you dont get a better sell than that!!! ~From the Holland page of the ALBC

Like I said I'm all for Hollands with the Campine being my 2nd choice of that lot.
The AlBC page made a brief mention of the Crevecoeur not doing too well with damp which would make me a little worried about how they'd fare here during the winter.
The Sumatra's are stunning! Though personally I look more for utility than beauty.

Just my two cents.

Tammy my Javas are the Auburn Javas
Mine are chicks ,but I do have pictures on my website Of them and info link that has all the info. on them.
Have a look and tell me what you think.
I would post of the breeders but at work and on my phone..

Dewey said he'll think about letting me go to the fall meet. So, whenever you guys decide on a date, I'm game. I do believe our county fair is the last weekend of September, though. I would like to go to the fair, but I'd rather go buy more chickens! I also bought an incubator today, so I'm ready to hatch out some eggs! Yay! I need to build more coops...

Edited to add:
I've been looking at the Russian Orloff as a project, but I would rather not pick up another breed at the moment. I'd actually like to get out of a few (hybrids).

This is the reason I picked Magpie Ducks. Very rare & hard to find. Even harder to find one with a good pattern. But when you get a good one, they are stunning!
Here is our top Drake Louie, has won tons at the the shows including the Ohio National, and better yet he is a Blue Magpie!

Chicken junkies had them. Not sure if she still does but I would check with her.

@Tonya, hey thanks!

I do have Russian Orloff. My hen is setting on a dozen eggs that will hatch about the 10th. Fingers crossed. One egg in hatcher right now too. Should have a few RO chicks soon.

I've got Peachicks!!!

My two India Blue hens sat on 13+ eggs together and I've seen 6-8 chicks so far. I hatched one Pied in the incy so far and two more scheduled to hatch any day. They are so cute. So egg-citing.

If I have any left, I might have some at the swap.

My new Silkie hen from Brody's Broodello is laying good too. Can't wait to see the cuteness she brings. Will have lots of Silkies for the swap. Plus dark red heritage RIR, Buff Orphs, Black Aussies & much, much more. Oh, I have a half dozen juvie Pearl Guineas to bring too. Out free-ranging already and catching those ticks.

I've seen this beauty at a couple shows. He is one of my favorites.
