Hello there fellow Marylanders! I'm new to chicken-keeping & BYC. I live in Carroll County (Mt. Airy) and I have a small backyard flock of 3 hens & 1 rooster. I'm still figuring everything out but so far I'm having a great time learning about my chickens and how to best care for them. Nice to meet everyone~

I think I have two Speckled Sussex hens, a Sebright mix rooster, and his daughter, also a mix, of course. I hope to eventually get a few more after I gain some experience. I fell really lucky to have found a small, established flock with a nice rooster. He's good with my 4 y.o. and my cats and dogs don't bother him one bit. Watching him find food for the girls is hilarious.
