My name is Amber. I am a single mom of 4 kids and a 4 yr old kitty Jazzy. I have never had Chickens but my kids and I have been interested in byc's for @ few years now. Well our chance is finally here! I am in the process of putting a contract on a house. So not only am I a first time home buyer, but a first time cooper! After seeing the house, I already have my coop plan laid out. I know exactly where its going and how I am going to do it!! The house sits on a huge lawn so my chickies will get free run whenever we are home. We spend most of our time outdoors.

Next I need to start planning my garden. I realize as with any pet, there are good and bad plants so I will be looking around here to see what I can have in my veggie/herb patch.

I am so excited. Since there are 5 of us in my family, we are going to have 5 chickies.. (the limit here anyways.. it wasnfate!) A baby for each of us.

My skinned babies.. I have 2 girls 14 and 11 and two boys 7 and 2.

Im glad to be here!

Hi :welcome Amber

Glad you could join us here! How exciting for you and your children to be starting out on your chicken adventures!! I'm sure you and they will enjoy it very much. Chickens sure are a great way of getting kids out into the fresh air. Have you checked out the learning centre? Lots of fab articles that I'm sure you will find most helpful, here is the link ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center

Good luck and be sure to ask any questions, everyone here to help and very friendly.
