Masked Bandit and Murderer Caught on Tape

First time in 8 years a predator has made it into this pen. Killed a nice Cochin pair the night before inside the coop...looked like mostly for sport. Apparently climbed up the 8 fence and under the netting on top.

Sorry for your loss. Time to predator proof your setup, and dispose of the critters.

Got complacent. Stopped shutting coop door at night (for several years).

Goes to show the benefit of keeping game cameras up. They don't stop anything, but at least you know who/what was responsible for the mahem. Am not familiar with Wosoda brand camera.....but looks to be pretty cheap and effective.

If you 8' fence is metal, you can hang a strand or two of electric fence on it and keep em out that way.

You are far enough south your coons may be giving birth to kits by now. Mom has to eat to feed em and the kits will soon be learning how to hunt. Gonna get ugly in the coming months.

It opened the neck of rooster and pulled a bit at the breast of hen. I removed the remaining hens to another coop the morning after the attack. I left the coop door the next night with camera mounted next to the opening. Another picture I didn't post showed the coon on the coop entrance ladder.
