Mason sand on floor of chicken coop

Hi i am new
i hane 10 chickens
my chicken coop floor is cement
i need to kow what i can put down on floor to keep clean
this will be just for the winter
my chickens are laying their eggs everywhere else but their nest
what can i do help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pine shavings on the floor work great. Are you going to use a deep litter method?

For the nest boxes, go to a craft store and buy a few wooden eggs.

Dear JoeBryant, with regards to your comment about putting a tarp down and then 6" of pine shavings. I like this idea. I will be housing 10 backyard hens for the first time in about a month. Could you tell me how many square feet and how many chickens this worked for in your situation? I like the fact that you had to change it only once a year. Much obliged, ChadAdrian.
 
Wow, never heard of using sand. That's the only way I'll go. If I had to use the dusty shaving I think I'd give up the chickens.
