Massachusetts Shows

Hi
I am also going to the show and I want to buy some Dominique bantam, Barred Rock bantam or Amerucana bantam eggs for hatching. I have a broody bantam hen that reliably hatches a few chicks for me every year.

I try to hatch the rounder eggs because these are more likely to be hens. I read about this years ago and it does seem to be true. It's not perfect, but the percentage of hens is higher with rounder eggs.

I might go! I went to that show once and it was alot of fun. They had a good size sale section which included all kinds of birds, not just banties. They also have food and a sale table with all kinds of chicken related stuff. I know the judging starts at 9:30 from what I saw and I think the doors open at like 8am or earlier for everyone to set up.

I'll be there on Sunday. I'll have a huge green umbrella to shade the birds. Come say "hi".

Boston Poultry Club sponsers the swap and it's on Bullard Street in Holliston. People get there about 8 to set up.

I'll have lots of blue and splash Silkie chicks, probably some standard (true) Ameraucanas too.

What's everyone bringing?

i am going, have some jersey giant chicks, australorps, a few mille fluers,
what is your plan on keeping the chicks warm enough,,i know it will be a warm day but will that be enough? mine are chick chicks,

It's supposed to be 90 degrees. I can't imagine that any age chick will have a problem staying warm.

Jersey giant chicks? Can you save one for me? How will I know you?

Karen
