I’m sure it was! Giving birth to children gives me some sympathy for what these ladies do regularly! I don’t know if regular laying makes it easier, but they still have my admiration and appreciation!

Yep and besides they are all tiny compared to the world record biggest chicken egg which was supposedly 16oz!!

I recently tried hatching a triple yolk egg. I knew it would not hatch, I expected the egg to go to day 10 but it went to day 17, one of the yolks got absorbed. And one didn't develop. One chick developed and quit.

Wow, that's huge!

I've incubated double yolk eggs a few times, not on purpose, just due not being thorough enough with my candling. They pretty much turned out the same way as yours, although twice one of the "twins" made it long enough to pip, but then expired.

Wow Beautiful If you stop giving high protein feed and let them graze. This changed laying behavior for me. Good luck!

I just have to take a moment to crow a little bit about a new hen of mine. She’s a hatchery sex-linked Black Marans (cuckoo over black copper), gifted to me by a friend who was downsizing her flock. Only the friend thought she was laying different colored eggs! Her eggs were so large I weighed them out of curiosity, the three I got were all around 2.65 oz, which is plenty big for a chicken egg. She stopped laying because she’d been moved to a new home, and today she started back up again. I’m going to have to get a new carton specifically for jumbo or duck eggs because hers just don’t fit!
