Abi one of my Australorps, started laying big white eggs too!!! i think it has somethin' to do with the egg bein soooooooooooo much bigger

, I'm eather gettin' a double yolker or a GIGANTIC yolker from her. hope the same happens to you!!! but be careful, since she started layin' the bigger eggs she is not layin' consistantly, its like she cant lay a normal sized egg so she has to wait till the one she has in her is big enuff, i normaly only get 2-3 eggs from her a week, when her breed is supposed to be layin' 5!!! lol oh well i still love her to death!!!

I had a Production Red that laid close to 4 ounce eggs every time. I watched her once, at first, I thought she was dieing, poor thing. I was almost happy when she died, it had to be miserable laying such large eggs all the time. I even considered putting her down because I felt so sorry for her, seems the equivalent of giving birth to a 12 pound baby every other day.

did you weigh the white one? I'd be curious to know how much it weighs, I have a white rock that lays big eggs too, every other week or so she lays a huge one, the last one was 4.03 oz. and a double yoker...

I have about 35 or so active layers right now, I get at least 1 monster egg a day, sometimes as many as 4. Some brown, some green. I don't have any white egg layers, a couple lay kind of a cream egg. Mostly double yolks, a occasional triple, now and then a monster egg will have a single, huge yolk.

They won't fit in even the jumbo cartons. I want to get some super-jumbo cartons, just for those.
