Hi, I got my first massive egg from our jumbo female who usually lays larger than "normal" eggs. But this time it was just HUGE! We have't cracked open yet to see if it's a double yoker. Just thought I'd post a couple photos and see if this is semi-normal that they do once in a while lay MASSIVE eggs?

The bottom right corner egg is a "jumbo egg" that the jumbo hens usually lay. Bottom left is that massive egg that is about half the size of a chicken egg.

Does this happen from time to time? It's our first time seeing such a huge egg!

Wow, that's a whopper! Poor girl. I've had the very odd 'fairy' egg from mine and they are so cute.

Probably a double yoke! That thing is huge! My hen struggled for about 2 hours with a giant egg once! Make sure you console the poor baby who laid that!
